Jim Murray MBE is a renowned actor, painter and river activist from Manchester who now lives on his beloved chalkstreams in Hampshire. Jim draws his inspiration from the rivers and oceans he is fiercely passionate about, and as such his large scale abstract paintings are full of drama, energy and colour. His recent Creatures of Light exhibition at the Royal Watercolour Gallery brought critical acclaim to his work, and his advocacy and activism is a key voice in the current call for systematic change in the regulation of the water industry and the plight of the wild salmon, using art to further his message. ’Art speaks a truth that goes beyond words. It reaches into the hearts and minds of people where mere facts cannot.’
